Born in Montbéliard and arrived with the orginal settlers on the BETTY which sailed from Rotterdam and arrived in Halifax on July 24,1752.
With his father and mother and two sisters.

He was victualled (list #6) Aug-Oct 1752 and Feb-Apr 1753 (list #849-53) in Halifax.
He was also victualled in Lunenburg February 23 - May 16, 1756 (list #403-07).

James Darey (Daré) was granted 275 acres on June 30, 1784.
