He and Anita lived in Halifax and had 13 children

Two years after his fathers death, in early 1928 they moved to Bedford, NS.
His mother and step father were unable to support the children and he was put in a foster home with his brothers and sisters.
He was the first to return home about 1930, with his sister Faye, when his step father found work.

He worked for the City of Halifax for 36 years retiring in 1984 as a foreman of city works dept. He liked to hunt, fish, and collected coins and stamps.
